Delaware State University Description:
Delaware State is a historically black university located on a historic 400-acre campus in Dover, Delaware. Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington D.C. are all within a couple hours. The oldest building on campus dates to the 1700s. The school is split into six colleges: Agriculture & Related Sciences, Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences, Business, Education, Health & Public Policy, Mathematics, Natural Sciences & Technology, and the School of Graduate Studies and Research.
Undergraduates can choose from 56 bachelor degree programs housed within 21 academic departments. Psychology, mass communications and management are the most popular undergraduate fields. Delaware State also has 30 graduate degree programs. The university has a 13 to 1 student / faculty ratio. On the athletic front, the Delaware State Hornets compete in the NCAA Division I (FCS) Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC).
